Franklin Award

April 21, 2011
NCoC shares Ben Franklin’s belief that “to provide benefits for the common good is divine.” In his name, the Franklin Award is given annually to an outstanding individual in federal service who is working to strengthen citizenship in America.

The 2011 recipient was United States Representative Gabrielle Giffords.

Previous recipients of the Franklin Award include Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Antonin Scalia, Sandra Day O’Connor, and Stephen Breyer, and Senators Robert Byrd and Lamar Alexander.
