NCoC believes that everyone has a contribution to make when it comes to building prosperous communities. The key to community vitality is developing strategies that uncover information about our challenges and use this data to unlock opportunities for engagement. These strategies are only effective when all who care about public life are engaged in the process.

After a civic assessment is performed, it must be animated to generate action. A diverse group of institutions and individuals must work together to create and implement civic strategies that recognize everyone's ability to contribute to community. These strategies must be relevant and applicable to decision makers, bring together multi-sector coalitions, and have clear metrics of success.

This panel discussion features Paula Ellis of the Knight Foundation, Steve Seleznow of the Arizona Community Foundation, Beth Shiroishi of the AT&T Foundation, and Mesa, Arizona Mayor Scott Smith. It was moderated by Dr. Lattie Coor of the Center for the Future of Arizona.
